Sanctify - Years & Years
You'll find redemption when all this is through Father, forgive me for finding the truth Love takes its toll on me, I'm just like you Maybe it's heavenly
Chris knows that her parents don’t understand, or even really support her passion for space. There’s a reason she hasn’t been home since she left for the academy- and it’s not fair she knows, to blame them for it. But up among the stars feels like where she’s meant to be. There’s thousands of planets and people, and there’s something amazing in that, that no holo-program will ever be able to truly recreate.Â
When the Dominion War ends, she considers going home. Her parents deserve to see her, and it is home in a way (the Sentinel is home, it’s where her work, and her friends are. Her quarters are decorated with pictures of various nebulas and other interesting planetary bodies that they’ve passed. The tables are covered in half finished holo-programs).
Chris will go home eventually, she will, but... there’s so much that needs to be done, and the voyage from the Gamma Quadrant back to Earth is so long in either direction. She always says that she’ll go home soon, but that day hasn’t come yet.Â

The galaxy was full of exiting places, and far away stars, and people travelled to them, and lived up there. For Chris, it was all fantasy, she loved the idea, but her family was normal human, and the only member of her family to go up to space was her aunt who she didn’t have much of a relationship with because she and Chris’ parents were estranged. Â
The normal childhood didn’t stop Chris’ desire to go to space though, and during her young years, she’d picked up reading books and making holo-programs set in space, it was the closest thing she had to the real thing, and it came with so much more detail than the pale reality that was the night sky with it’s bare handful of stars from light-pollution.Â
When she was 17, Chris applied to Starfleet Academy. Originally, she’d planned to go into engineering, she had some experience with it through the holo-matrixes, but that quickly changed into the science courses, and their astronomy ones in particular. It was what she loved, and what she’d spent a lifetime learning about. When she graduated, she was stationed on the USS Sentinel, which was tasked with explorations into the newly discovered Gamma quadrant.
Chris worked with a few other officers in the astrometrics lab, until the start of the Dominion War when the others were stationed on other ships to help aid with a tactical advantage. they had seen the quadrant after all, they would know better how to plan based off resources and locations. Chris stayed on board the Sentinel.Â
When Voyager returned from the Delta quadrant, she spent many weeks reading through all of their logs about where they had travelled and in particular, about the readings from the astrometrics lab that they had added, and with a bit of help from the engineers, and permission from her captain, she added some improvements to the lab designed off the tech that Voyager had introduced.Â
Now, Chris is the principal stellar cartographer on board the USS Sentinel, and since the end to the Dominion War, she and the ship have returned to their scientific missions scouting the Gamma quadrant (rather a lot of the interesting finds get incorporated into one of her holo-programs).

They’re largely based off old Earth science fiction, and the one she’s proudest of is one set in the Jedi Temple from Star Wars. She also hates her full name, so she almost always uses Chris instead of Chrisantha.
